THE DRIVING FORCE

The Analytical Laboratories Technical Committee (ALTC) of the Energy and Environmental Division of ASQ offers a vision that combines public concerns for accurate and trustworthy test results with private needs to sustain businesses that contribute to satisfying energy needs and ensuring environmental health and welfare for future generations. The People The membership of the ALTC spans a wide range of professionals-- from quality professionals to lab managers and suppliers. Each member makes a special contribution through participation in the various committee activities, exploring quality methods and techniques that will yield improved quality of work output for dedicated professionals in the workplace.

THE LEADERSHIP

The ALTC leads the way in focusing on the quality aspects of needs in the analytical laboratory. The Committee provides a broad-based forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences in quality principles and practices, as well as a clearer understanding of regulations and requirements that support the demand for quality in energy and environmental areas of interest. 

THE BENEFITS

The ALTC supports its members through a variety of challenging learning opportunities and activities. These include subcommittees whose work addresses energy and environmental issues and the ensuing current and anticipated quality needs and requirements as well as the developing analytical technologies and applications. In conjunction with the Division, the Committee offers a number of conferences and workshops covering a broad range of quality and quality-related energy and environmental issues. The Committee will produce several publications on quality-related topics for analytical laboratories in the energy and environmental industries. Proceedings from the Division conferences will be made available on the ALTC Website. Tutorials; and workshops on specific quality practices and quality management subjects, such as auditing, inspection, operations, experimental design, and vendor/supplier evaluations will be part of ALTC sessions at Division conferences. The conferences, publications, and committees continue to provide an ongoing forum for active participation in formulating and sharing improved quality concepts and applications. 

The Analytical Laboratories Technical Committee of the Energy and Environmental Division of ASQ is prepared to meet the 21st Century Challenges.
